Basic Premise:

1. "My Imam is right!" 
1. If one argues that some verses can be explained in another way, that implies that those verses had left room for ambiguity. 
2. A book which is claimed to be a complete Guide to Human life, can be anything but ambiguous.  
3. If you must have an Imam to explain a book which is written for all mankind,  this obviously fails to be a "The One Book" solution, rather it is the "The Explanation of the Book provided by My Imam" 

Sunni muslims says Shiates are not muslims, so lets kill them. Can Sunni's show a certificate issued by their God saying they are the only true muslims ?!

Our THE PENAL CODE, 1860 (ACT NO. XLV OF 1860), have had punishments for ill-sayers, upto 1 yr and/or fine, section 298.

This section 295A, was added in 1993 by then Parliamentarian Motiur Rahman Nizami, Secretary General of the Jamaat i Islami, I assume it was targeted to prosecute Humayun Azad and alikes.

In December 2008, Jamaat i Islami promised, if elected to govern, to introduce a "blasphemy law" like Pakistan's. In Pakistan Over 50 people accused of blasphemy have been murdered before their respective trials were over. Since 1990, 62 people have been murdered as a result of blasphemy allegations

Constitution of Bangladesh, "Islam" and Secularism and Freedom of Speech

"Religion" and its state in Bangladesh Constitution, a study 

Ex-President Zia added "Bismillahir-Rahmaanir-Rahim" into the Constitution.

Section 2.A, added by ex-president H.M. Ershad,  says Bangladesh is an Islamic-Republic [fig-1].

Question #1: Can we be Islamic Republic and still call "Secularism" as the Fourth Pillar of our constitution ?  

Section 12 says the state is to be "Secular", will have "freedom of religion". 12(a) says its to be communal state. [fig-2] . What is communal one may ask :

How can 2A and 12(a)  coexist in the same constitution ?  In a collection of communities how can one faith be adopted as the "Faith of the State" and still be true to the communion.


A recent WRIT petition challenging 2A seems like a much needed correction for a coherent constitution.

Question #2: How do we have religion based political parties in Bangladesh ? 

Section 12(b) says that the STATE will not provide "Political Status" to any religion [fig-2].   So can there exist any religion based political parties ( like:  Jamat-e-Islami, JMB, Chatra Shibir etc)  in Bangladesh when we have the 12.(b) in our constitution!?

The intent of this writeup is not religious or anti religious, human right,  health or wellbeing perspective, rather the perspective of ????


An  un-identifiable person (1) interacting with other persons or (2) operating in a public area.

Scenario 1: 

Say you are teaching a class and there are a few in burka, only their eyes are showing while in class.
During final exam how would you ensure if those are the right girls sitting in for the test under those Burkas ?

Say a woman or man in Burka in a public place involved in stabbing, shooting or bombing.  Unless she/he is apprehended at the spot, it would be difficult to capture at a later time.
 

Scenario 2:

With Burka one becomes to be a ghost with all human capabilities. Say a Burka curses a person and there is more than one Burka-wearers, how would one know which one uttered the foul words ?

Some Burka-wearer dropped a purse or bomb and walked into other Burka-wearers, how would one find the true owner amongst others?

What would a compassionate human do if say he finds an unconscious Burka-wearer on the road after an  accident ?

It is VITAL to be able to recognize other humans to operate in a society. Un-identifiable person, may this be Burka or a Mascot costume, is a menace to society.

Scenario 3:


Masked individuals at Public Places.  

Why do we even allow these Masked individuals to be at our Schools, Malls, Planes ? We won't allow a Masked Man to enter a Public school or Plane but these are ignored?!

 The law has existed since 1845,  the New York Penal Law 240.35(4), it is illegal to congregate in public with two or more people while each wearing a mask or any face covering which disguises your identity. It was last enforced in 1999. 

North Carolina has a statewide ban on anyone wearing face masks in public property (North Caroline General Statutes, Chapter 14: Criminal Law, Article 4A (Prohibited Secret Societies and Activities), section 14-12.14).

Observations on Islamic Law of Inheritance

The BASIS of Islamic Law : 

The word "Shariah" means "The Path". In general Shariah includes the followings : 

1) Instructions from Allah, the Quran 

2) Prophet Muhammad directed Way of Life, the Hadith 

Historically there are 2 facts to consider that : 

1) Quranic verses came to Prophet Muhammad gradually over a period of approximately 23 years, beginning on 22 December 609 CE, when Muhammad was 40, and concluding in 632, the year of his death.

2) Muhammad never Published the Quran while he lived. It was first put-together & published around 632 while one of Muhammad's companion Omar ( later the 2nd Khaliph) decided to collect all fragments, contents from many kind of media. Later after 644 Usman   merge many variations/versions of Quran into just-one.

3)  The Hadiths were again never written while prophet Muhammad lived. It was later collected and versioned by few.

You are a Muslim and have only Daughters, now what ?

Islamic Hanafi Law states, if you have no boy-child, if you have only 1 girl child she will get 1/2 , if there is more than 1 then they collectively will get 2/3 of the property. Rest will go to your Parents, Bothers, Sisters, Nephew & Nieces.

So if you have no son, you will not be able to keep your property within your immediate family!
This is an Idiotic Islamic Law. While the christians can do "Will", muslims can do Will of only 1/3 of properties. The Heba is a Risky business as the transfer happens prior to owners death, so in old ages one will become solely dependent on the goodwill of the Daughter( who has received the heba) and their Husband. ..... 

This was possibly okay in the Arab as they took many wives ( so the possibility of having a Boy-

Child was much higher) but that is no longer the case in modern age. This needs change.

Observations on Religion of Peace , Islam

The Claim that  "Quran teaches peace".

One could have been born in a peaceful family which happens to be of Muslim faith. But does the holy book teach Peace ?

Somehow  ISIS, Al-Shabab all seems to say they are following the Quran while the behead human beings. Lets look at the verses that empowers them : 

Sura #8 ( aka Sura Anfal), Verse #12 

Sura #47 ( aka Sura Muhammad) , Verse #4 

Few other Observations:

Sura #4 ( aka Sura Nisaa) , Verse #34 

Allows beating of wives. 

Sura #4 ( aka Sura Nisaa) , Verse #74 

Great Reward in you Die in the War/Zihaad.

Sura #5 ( aka Sura Maidah) , Verse #51 

It says "Believers, take neither Jews nor Christians for your friends."

Many arguments can be made against such verses (they must be contextualized, they are applicable only to that time or they are metaphorical, etc etc) but one cannot say these verses do not exist. 


So, it is FALSE that "Quran teaches peace".
